Singapore Merlion Park

Merlion Park - Singapore

Merlion Park

The famous term for a foreigner in visiting to Singapore is that: “You have never been in Singapore if you have no souvenir picture  with the Merlion” - The famous symbol of Singapore. The head looks like a lion and the body is a fish. The symbol was designed by Fraser Brunner for the logo of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in use from 26 March 1964 to 1997. Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew officiated the installation of the Merlion statue on September 15, 1972.

MERLION PARK: The Merlion has been erected as s symbol
to welcome all visitors to Singapore.
It was formally installed at a ceremony on
15th September 1972 by
Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the Prime Minister

As I go around, there are lot of people taking pictures with the Merlion as their background. It’s quite fascinated to see that the Merlion’s mouth keeps on dropping water similar to a common waterfall in nature.

… And who could resist taking picture of the small Merlion statue… Indeed, it’s so nice to capture every beautiful scene in my surroundings.
